Trade in your turf equipment

Put the machine you are finished with toward the one you actually need. We value your unit, you pick its replacement from our inventory, and the whole swap settles in a single transaction.

How a trade works

Three steps and one handover

A trade is simpler than a sale followed by a purchase, because there is one negotiation, one collection and one delivery instead of two of each.

  1. We value your machineSend the make, the model, the hours and a few photographs. We put a number on it based on condition and on what it will take to return it to service, and we explain how we got there. Running or not, it is worth an appraisal.
  2. You choose the replacementPick from what we have inspected and serviced, or tell us what you are looking for and we will watch for it. Your trade value comes straight off the price, so the only figure left to settle is the difference.
  3. We swap them overOne visit, both machines. Your old unit goes on the trailer and the replacement comes off it, including machines that will not drive on under their own power. No gap in your fleet while you wait for a private sale to close.

Tell us what you are replacing and what you need next

Send the make, the model, the hours and a few photographs. You will hear back from the owner, not from a sales desk.

What you can trade toward

Inspected and serviced before it ships

Everything in our inventory goes through a full mechanical inspection before it is listed, so the machine arriving on your property is ready for the season rather than a project.

What we assess

How your trade value is set

Your trade value is what the machine is genuinely worth to the next operator, not a book figure with a discount applied to it.

We look at make and model, hours on the meter, the condition of the cutting units, whether the hydraulics and the charging system are sound, and how much work it takes to put the unit back into service. Twenty five years running a golf course equipment shop is what makes that last judgment accurate rather than cautious, and being accurate is what protects your number.

Service records help more than most people expect. A documented maintenance history on a used machine is worth real money, so bring it if you have it. If you do not, a photograph of the serial plate and the hour meter is enough for us to start.

Why trade rather than sell

Four reasons it is usually simpler

One transactionOne negotiation instead of a sale and then a separate purchase, with one set of paperwork at the end of it
No gap in the fleetThe replacement arrives as the old unit leaves, so you are never a machine short in the middle of a mowing schedule
No listing or waitingNo advertising, no answering enquiries, no strangers on the property, and no deal falling through at the last minute
One transport runBoth machines move on the same visit, which is a local run for us rather than two freight quotes for you

Trade or sell outright

We will tell you which suits you

A trade is not always the better answer and we will say so. Here is how the two compare, honestly.

When trading winsMore
When trading wins

You are replacing rather than retiring the machine, you need the new one in service quickly, and you would rather not manage a private sale. One transaction, one transport run, no gap in the fleet.

When selling winsMore
When selling wins

You are reducing the fleet rather than refreshing it, or you need the cash rather than a machine. If a private sale would clearly net you more and you have the time to run it, we will tell you that plainly.

You can do bothMore
You can do both

On a multiple machine turnover, trade the units you are replacing and sell the rest outright in the same conversation. It settles as one deal and one collection either way.

Common questions

Trading equipment with us

How does a turf equipment trade in work?

Three steps. We appraise your machine from the make, model, hours, condition and photographs. You choose a replacement from our inspected inventory, or tell us what to watch for. Then both machines move on the same visit and you settle only the difference between the two figures.

Can I trade a machine that does not run?

Yes. Because we service and refurbish in our own shop, a unit that is down for a hydraulic fault, an electrical problem or deferred maintenance still carries a trade value. Do not spend money repairing it first. Tell us what you know is wrong and we will price the real condition.

Do I get more by trading or by selling outright?

It depends on whether you are replacing the machine or removing it. Trading is usually better value once you account for the time, the transport and the risk of running a private sale yourself, and it removes the gap in your fleet. If selling outright would clearly serve you better, we will say so rather than push the trade.

What if you do not have the replacement I want in stock?

Tell us the model you are after and we will watch for it. Inventory turns over constantly and we know what is moving through Southwest Florida, so a specific request is often filled sooner than people expect. Your appraisal stands while we look.

Which manufacturers will you take in trade?

Most often John Deere, Toro, Jacobsen, Cushman, Turfco, Kubota, Steiner, Dakota and Smithco. That list reflects what moves through this region rather than a restriction. Another make does not rule out a trade, it only changes the number.

Can I trade several machines at once?

Yes, and it is often the easiest way to handle a fleet turnover or a brand change. Send the whole list in one message and we will work through it as a single transaction rather than machine by machine, including any units you would rather sell outright than trade.

Who handles the transport?

We do, both directions, on the same visit. That includes loading machines that cannot be driven onto a trailer. You do not need to get the old unit running or move it anywhere first.
