We came off the golf course side, with over 25 years managing a course fleet, Toro University certifications, time as an assistant superintendent and a commercial ornamental and turf applicator license behind the diagnosis.

A course machine is judged by the surface it leaves, not by whether it starts. Cutting unit condition, reel to bedknife contact and height of cut are part of the job, because a machine that is mechanically sound and badly set still shows on the green.

A machine from another manufacturer is still worth asking about, and you will get a straight answer either way.
Yes. A machine that is completely down is a normal starting point for us rather than a problem. Units that will not start, will not drive, will not raise their cutting units or have been sitting behind the maintenance building for a season are all worth a diagnosis before anyone decides they are finished.
The machine is diagnosed first, then you get an estimate with parts and labor set out separately so you can see what you are paying for. Nothing beyond the agreed estimate is done without a call to you first. If the diagnosis turns up a second fault that changes the picture, you hear about it before any further work happens rather than when the invoice arrives.
Yes. Routine servicing is the work that keeps a fleet out of the repair queue. Oil and filter changes, greasing, belts, hoses, batteries and charging systems, blade and reel condition, and pre season checks across a fleet before the cutting season loads up. On a course fleet this is far cheaper than the failures it prevents.
A repair fixes what has failed and returns the machine to service. A refurbishment goes through the whole unit, replaces the wear items together rather than one failure at a time, and restores full operational reliability. Refurbishment is usually the better value on a machine that is fundamentally sound but has high hours or years of deferred maintenance behind it.
You will be told. Because we buy, sell and trade used golf course equipment as well as repair it, we have no reason to push a repair that does not make sense. If replacing the machine is the better decision we will say so, and you have the option of selling or trading the old unit to us rather than paying to store or remove it.
